Hair IS dead. The root is the only living thing, the strands are not living. Anyways, put some pure coconut oil in your hair, leave in for a half hour, then shampoo and condition. Do this once a week and your hair will be soft, shiny, and de-frizzed!
my hair was like 4 inches past my shoulders. yesterday i got it cut, and it at my shoulders. you should trim it. also use deep conditioner. there are alot of alternatives to straightening. like you could use mixed chicks to make your curls prettier. also there is a flat iron called the psy. its awesome. i got it 4 christmas. it gives your hair a great shine. trust me i have the curliest hair ever. the curls are soooo tight.
Go to a hair salon that specializes in Corrective coloring…. They will be able to point you in the way of best conditioners and treatments to help fix the damage to your hair.
If you can’t find a salon go to a beauty supply store. Tell them that you have heat damaged your hair and they will tell you what to do to repair the damage.
Also you need to use Moroccan oil or similar product on your hair when applying heat, creams won’t help as much as oils and serums. Don’t over shampoo and buy a ceramic straightener but check out the best model for repairing dry hair. Do not use chemical straighteners. I have seen friends have permanent balding and scaring from them!
I recommend a very reliable hair treatment that moisturizes completely and repairs any serious hair damage. It’s called pro naturals moroccan oil and you apply it before going to sleep for better results. Besides, it comes with a heat protector so that won’t be a problem anymore! IT’S SUPER IMPORTANT that before using any electronic hair tools you apply a heat protector, otherwise your hair will just keep burning and it WILL eventually fall out!
