Cataract surgery is the removal of the crystalline lens of the eye that has developed opacification which is also called an eye cataract. This is caused by metabolic changes of the fibers of the eye which leads to the development of the cataracts and further initiates the loss of transparency and consequent loss of vision or even irreversibly worse, overall impairment of the eye.
