Always check the walls to make sure that you do not leave them damp, as this could cause a situation for mold removal.
I have used a poly 18×24 lawn roller. When the drum is full of water, it is
270 lbs. One rolls, another vacs the water squishes out. $120 tool you can
get at Home Depot.
Very good idea. That is similar to how water damage used to be done about
20 years ago. It does work. It has evolved over many generations of
improvements since then. There are many different methods that you can use
to remove water from a carpet. Some better than others, But the end goal is
the same, get the water out of the wet carpet and pad, dry out and prevent
mold damage. Clay
Clay, thank you so much for speaking with me on a Sunday morning! I truly
appreciated your advice, both on your video as well as with speaking with
you by phone on how to deal with wet carpeting in our basement caused by an
overflowing dehumidifier. We’ll be pulling up the carpet and pad today in
our Nashua home. You were very helpful–and thanks so much!!!
My basement got flooded thru the well windows. I watched this video and
and thanks for your time and
called the guy in the video. He was very helpful in giving me tips on how
to clean the carpet. I wish he was a local guy so I could have used his
services. Thanks much for your help. I will try out the tips. Thanks for
sharing your experience at not cost
efforts.
You might wish to post this on a DIY site. Youtubers would find it
valuable. Thanks for sharing.
